The University of Massachusetts Boston is deeply rooted in the city’s history, yet poised to address the challenges of the future. Recognized for innovative research, metropolitan Boston’s public research university offers its diverse student population both an intimate learning environment and the rich experience of a great American city. UMass Boston’s 212 undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs, offered through its 11 colleges and graduate schools, serve nearly 17,000 students while engaging local and global constituents through academic programs, research centers, and public service.

1.School for the Environment
The University of Massachusetts Boston is "The Environmental Campus" of the five-campus University of Massachusetts system, and the School for the Environment (SFE) is the campus's premier interdisciplinary environmental school. SFE, together with departments across the campus and in collaboration with research institutes such as the Urban Harbors Institute, Collaborative Institute for Oceans, Climate, and Security, and Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies, energizes and facilitates the university's vision for national preeminence in environmental research and academic programs.
The School for the Environment integrates the natural and social sciences to generate and apply new knowledge about the quality of our environment and the sustainable use of its resources. It focuses on promoting integrated science, planning, policy, and education for understanding earth-system processes and managing complex interactions between human activities (e.g., urbanization) and natural processes (e.g., carbon cycling) in linked watershed and coastal marine systems. The school's strong transdisciplinary makeup (natural and social sciences within the same department) and its focus on linked watershed-coastal systems are unique in the country.
School facilities include the Environmental Analytical Core Laboratory, the Center for Coastal Environmental Sensor Networks (CESN), the Laboratory for Urban & Coastal Environmental Science (LUCES), and others. In addition, the school houses specialized laboratories for earth, ocean, and environmental sciences, including state-of-the-art facilities for hydrogeology, coastal geology, environmental toxicology, benthic ecology and zooplankton analysis, and remote sensing as well as inshore/near shore research vessels.

2. School for Global Inclusion and Social Development
In our interconnected world, understanding the causes of social exclusion is crucial. People worldwide are excluded from their communities for reasons including disability, age, race, gender, and sexual orientation.
Classes at the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD) focus on research-supported practices that increase inclusion regionally, nationally, and around the world. Instruction is delivered on campus, online, and through international exchange programs.

3.Honors College
UMass Boston’s Honors College provides a home for a cohort of intellectually ambitious students who are eager to research complex local and global issues from multiple perspectives. This unique experience fosters independent thinking, self-discovery, and leadership among undergraduate students who reflect the vibrant diversity of our urban, local and global communities. Seminars are taught by distinguished faculty from across the University in a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages active inquiry and rigorous analysis.
The Honors College experience includes the following components:
Taking courses in the Honors College (two 100-level courses, four 200-level courses, and one 300-level course)
Fulfilling additional requirements in Math and Foreign Language
Writing and presenting a senior thesis on a long-term project (e.g. research, internship, service learning, student teaching)
Obtaining personalized advising from an Honors College advisor, in addition to a major advisor
Engaging in co-curricular activities (e.g. orientation activities, special events, student organizations, etc)

荣誉学院的学习体验分为以下几个部门：
a.课程学习。有两门一百级课程、四门二百级课程和一门三百级课程。

c.写作，根据研究、实习、服务式学习和授课等长期项目完成毕业论文。
d.获得个人化的辅导。辅导由学院顾问和专业顾问提供。
e.参与课程辅助活动，比如宣讲会、特殊活动和学生组织。
