Program Description The aim of the Internet and Web Computing programs is to provide relevant and high-level skills to students seeking a career as a Web professional. They provide exclusive study of Web and Internet related courses (subjects).
The focus is on equipping students with adaptive skills in this rapidly evolving discipline, rather than focusing on just specific technologies, although they will be exposed to several leading edge technologies required by industry as part of their training.
The program recognises that many graduates will be shifting career towards IT or upgrading their existing knowledge and skills base.
This program runs primarily on Saturdays, with students undertaking a maximum of two courses (subjects) on the day. Occasional equivalent courses (subjects) may be offered on a weeknight to increase a student's overall course (subject) loading. Timetables can be found online at
Teaching Methods Classes are taught in a combination of lecture / seminar, tutorial, workshop, practical and laboratory sessions.
Assessment Assessment is ongoing throughout the semester and may include examinations, essay / reports, oral class presentations, group projects, research projects, laboratory projects and practical assignments.
Mode and Duration Please Note: part-time study is not available to International Students.
This program may be done in part-time mode at a rate of one or two courses (subjects) per semester for two or more years, or full-time over 12 to 18 months depending on commencement timing. Summer semester is offered as an accelerated mode of study, with lectures being taken twice weekly. Summer sem

Study Pathways Students who are more advanced in computing by virtue of having completed recognised tertiary-level computing courses (subjects), may be granted advanced standing of up to two courses (subjects).
Graduate Certificate in Internet and Web Computing (four core or approved courses (subjects)), Graduate Diploma in Internet and Web Computing (eight approved courses (subjects)).
Professional Recognition This program is recognised at the professional level by the Australian Computer Society.
Career Prospects This program can lead to roles in the ever expanding web arena, such as web development and maintenance, e-commerce applications, databases, server technology, and the booming web game industry.
