1. Eligibility
A. Master's Programs and Combined Master’s / Doctoral Programs
International applicants must meet all of the following requirements :
He or she holds (or is about to hold) a Bachelor’s degree
He or she is not a citizen of Korea
His or her parents are not citizens of Korea
※ Applicants who hold dual Korean citizenship are prohibited from applying. Citizenship status is determined as that which is held at the date of the application deadline.
B. Doctoral Programs
International applicants must meet all of the following requirements :
He or she holds (or is about to hold) a Master’s degree
He or she is not a citizen of Korea
His or her parents are not citizens of Korea

C. Eligibility for language proficiency(Master’s Programs, Doctoral Programs, Master’s and Combined Master’s/ Doctoral Programs) Applicants must provide one of the following as proof of language proficiency :
① Korean proficiency: A "TOPIK" certificate for level 3 or higher
② English proficiency: A score report from a recognized English proficiency test (TOEFL - PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80, IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550, TOEIC 700 or higher)
③ Be a native English speaker
④ A confirmation letter of English or Korean proficiency issued by the department after the initial admission interview (Nov 22 – Dec 2).
※ Applicants who want to apply for the following departments MUST meet required conditions

B. Financial Documents
For whom : Applicants who have passed Admissions Committee screening

Required documents
① Original copy of bank statement (in English) or certificate stipulating that the applicant will receive a scholarship from an institution other than KNU.
· Non-scholarship applicants: Submit bank statement showing more than USD 15,000
· 50% KINGS scholarship beneficiaries: Submit bank statement showing more than USD 12,000
· 100% KINGS scholarship beneficiaries: Submit bank statement showing more than USD 9,000
② Employment certificate and certificate of income from a financial guarantor.※ An academic advisor's certificate of supporting finance and his(her) certificate of employment can be substituted for the above two documents.
C. Academic Degree Verification Documents
For whom : Final successful applicants
When : by Feb.27(Mon)
Required documents : Successful applicants must submit one of the following ➀,➁,➂ documents
① Apostille Certificate of your previous academic documents
② Verified by the Korean Embassy in other countries or the Embassy in Korea
③ Confirmation from the China Academic Degree & Graduate Education Development Center(Only for applicants who hold a degree from universities in China)
※ Applicants who graduated from universities in Korea can submit copy of the degree.
6. Application Fee : ₩ 60,000 (Korean Currency)
Application fee should be paid using the online payment system.
Failure to pay the application fee during the application period will result in cancellation.
You can get the application number after payment of the application fee.※ NOTE: It is impossible to revise the contents of the application after payment.
Important notes for Applicants
1. All documents should be in Korean or English. Documents in another language should be accompanied by a notarized Korean or English translation.
2. If any required documents are found to be false or counterfeit, your application will be canceled.
3. Any applicant submitting a certificate of expected graduation must submit the original copy of the graduation certificate before beginning their first semester at KNU.
4. The Office of International Affairs is not responsible for application cancellation due to incorrect contact information (such as address and phone number).
5. If an applicant’s visa is not issued or is rejected, his or her application will be canceled.
6. Applicants receiving a scholarship from another institution are not required to submit a certificate of financial guarantee; however, they must submit a certificate/letter from the institution confirming that they will pay your tuition during your period of study at KNU.
7. No submitted documents or application fees will be returned to the applicant. (Original copies of certificates of graduation will be returned after the screening process is completed.)
