NOMINATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Ranging in value from $30,000 to full cost of attendance, these scholarships are our most competitive scholarship awards. Candidates must be nominated for consideration.
Nomination Scholarships, the most competitive awards we offer, recognize and reward students who rank among the strongest in the nation.
You must be nominated for consideration. Heads of school or college counselors may nominate one or two candidate(s) per school or program for the Belk Scholarship, and up to three candidates for the Bryan Scholarship or the Charles Scholarship. You may also be nominated by our admission and financial aid staff on the basis of your strong application for admission.
Nomination Scholarships are renewable for each of your remaining three years at Davidson, providing established grade point average and progress toward degree requirements are met, and you participate fully and vigorously in the life of the college.

JOHN M. BELK SCHOLARSHIP
Annual Award Amount: Comprehensive cost (tuition, fees, room and board) and two $3,000 special study stipends
Number Awarded: Up to eight in each first-year class
Eligibility: Students who demonstrate exceptional achievement and promise in academics, character, leadership, and service
LOWELL L. BRYAN SCHOLARSHIP (ATHLETICS)
Annual Award Amount: $30,000
Number Awarded: One female and one male scholar-athlete recipient in each first-year class
Eligibility: Students who will contribute in a superlative manner to their sports as well as to academic and co-curricular life at Davidson
CHARLES SCHOLARSHIP
Annual Award Amount: Full cost of attendance (room, board, tuition, fees, spending allowance for books, travel, personal expenses)
Number Awarded: Up to three in each first-year class
Eligibility: Graduates of Chicago public high schools with strong records of academic and personal accomplishment who have established financial need. Preference is given to students of color, particularly Hispanic and Latino students

COMPETITION SCHOLARSHIPS
Competition scholarships are some of our most important and generous awards. Candidates are selected by Davidson.
These annually renewable scholarships are offered to those who have demonstrated extraordinary potential and ability to contribute to our vigorous living and learning community.
You may be selected as a candidate by our admission and financial aid staff. As a finalist, you'll participate in selection interviews on campus during Celebration and Recognition Weekend, April 5-7, 2018.
No separate application form is required.
MISSY AND JOHN KUYKENDALL SCHOLARSHIP
Annual award: $25,000
Number awarded: Two in each first-year class
Eligibility: You can provide the kind of servant leadership that characterized the presidency of John W. Kuykendall '59.
WILLIAM HOLT TERRY SCHOLARSHIP
Annual award: Full tuition and one special opportunity stipend
Number awarded: Two in each first-year class
Eligibility: You have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and personal qualities through student government, athletics, service, or other activities.

APPLICATION SCHOLARSHIPS
If you demonstrate significant interest in a particular field of study, show a commitment to service, or have special talents in the arts, you may be eligible to receive an Application Scholarship.
Application Scholarships are renewable provided you maintain a specified grade point average, make expected progress toward your degree, and meet any scholarship specific requirements.
You may apply for as many of these scholarships as you wish. The deadline for submission is January 5, unless otherwise indicated.

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS
All students admitted to Davidson are automatically considered for a limited number of general scholarships. These awards range from $500 to $15,000 and are presented on the basis of the strength of the application for admission.
The strength of your application for admission is the deciding factor in receiving these scholarships. Financial need is not considered.
No separate application form is required and you will be evaluated equally with your peers, whether you apply by early decision or regular decision.
ELIGIBILITY
Once academic excellence is established, General Scholarships are awarded with additional preference for the skills, interests, and experiences that add to the vitality of the Davidson experience. Examples include:
Being the first in your family to attend college
Having exceptional athletic and academic skills
Being from a specific geographic region
Evidence of deeply developed interest in certain academic areas
Outstanding leadership skills
Bringing diverse perspectives to campus and classroom life
Demonstrated commitment to service
General Scholarships can be renewed each year, provided grade point average and progress toward degree requirements are met.
