  高考英语情态动词复习:can和could

  1、can的用法

  (1)表示体力和脑力方面的能力。

  (2)表示对现在的动作或状态进行主观的猜测,主要用在否定句和疑问句中。

  (3)表示可能性,理论上的可能性,意为“有时候可能会”,可用于肯定句。

  (4)表示允许,意思与may接近。

  (5)表示说话人的推测、怀疑、惊异、猜测或不肯定等,主要用于否定句、疑问句或感叹句中。

  (6)can的特殊句型

  cannot…too / enough表示“无论怎么。。。也不过分”。“越。。。越好”。

  cannot but+ do sth.表示“不得不,只好”。

  2、could的用法

  (1)表示能力,指的是过去时间。

  (2)表示允许,指的是过去时间。

  (3)表示可能,可以指过去时间,也可以指现在时间,表示语气缓和。

  (4)委婉客气地提出问题或陈述看法,指的是现在时间。主要用于疑问句,回答时用can。

  3、can与could的区别

  can表推测时只用于否定句和疑问句(could无此限制)。couldn’t的可能性比can’t小。

  4、can与be able to的区别

  (1)现在时:无区别,但后者不常用。

  (2)完成时;can没有完成时,此时要用have(has,had)been able to。

  (3)将来时:can没有将来时,要用will be able to。

  (4)过去时:could表示一般能力,was/were able to 表示在具体场合通过努力成功做成某事的能力。

  Trust is a tricky business. On the one hand, it’s a prerequisite for many worthwhile things: child care, relationships, friendships—even just eating at a restaurant. On the other hand, putting your faith in the wrong place often carries a high price.

  Many philosophers define trust as a kind of reliance on other people based on a certain attitude.

  What is the attitude that underpins trust?

  Philosophers have answered that question many ways. For example, some say it is a simple belief that the other person will do the right thing for the right reasons. Others say it is rooted in a felt altruism, or in the hope that displaying trust will influence the other person to do what one wants them to do.

  The problem with the belief view, according to Baier, was two-fold: first, it failed to distinguish trust from mere reliance, and secondly (and perhaps more importantly), it failed to make sense of the idea that when you trust someone and your trust is violated, you feel a sense of betrayal rather than mere disappointment.

  can 和be able to的用法比较

  1)can could 表示能力;可能 (过去时用could)

  只用于现在式和过去式(could)。be able to可以用于各种时态。

  They will be able to tell you the news soon. 他很快就能告诉你消息了。

  2)只用be able to

  a. 位于助动词后。

  b. 情态动词后。

  c. 表示过去某时刻动作时。

  d. 用于句首表示条件。

  e. 表示成功地做了某事时,只能用was/were able to, 不能用could。

  He was able to flee Europe before the war broke out。

  = He managed to flee Europe before the war broke out。

  注意:could不表示时态

  People are often uncertain about whether there is any difference between can and may when these verbs are used to ask for or grant permission.

  当动词can和may用来表达请求或授予许可时,人们常常不确定这两个词是否存在不同。

  看看下面两个例子是否有不同:

  Can I ask you a few questions?

  May I ask you a few questions?

  Can常用于与能力或技能相关的疑问句中,如:

  Can she swim?

  她会游泳吗?

  Can you speak Italian?

  你能说意大利语吗?

  May可以表示推测,意为“也许,可能”.如:

  She may be at home. Let’s go to see her.

  她可能在家,我们去看看她吧。

  用作请求时:

  The difference between the two verbs is that one is more polite than the other. In informal contexts it’s perfectly acceptable to use can; in formal situations it would be better to use may.

  这两个词语的区别就是一个词语(may)比另一个(can)更为礼貌。在非正式的场合使用can是完全可以被接受的,在正式场合则使用may更为合适。

  因此,上面两个句子都是正确的,只是使用may会更正式和礼貌一些。

  1)can/could 表示能力;可能 (过去时用could), 只用于现在式和过去式(could)。

  Now, I want to start with a question: When was the last time you were called "childish"? For kids like me, being called childish can be a frequent occurrence. Every time we make irrational demands,exhibit irresponsible behavior, or display any other signs of being normal American citizens, we are called childish. Which really bothers me. After all, take a look at these events: Imperialism and colonization, world wars, George W. Bush. Ask yourself, who's responsible? Adults.

  Now, what have kids done? Well, Anne Frank touched millions with her powerful account of the Holocaust. Ruby Bridges helped to end segregation in the United States. And, most recently, Charlie Simpson helped to raise 120,000 pounds for Haiti, on his little bike. So as you can see evidenced by such examples, age has absolutely nothing to do with it. The traits the word "childish" addresses are seen so often in adults, that we should abolish this age-discriminatory word, when it comes to criticizing behavior associated with irresponsibility and irrational thinking.

  今天我说课的内容是仁爱英语七年级下册Unit 7Topic 2 Section A。下面,我将谈谈我对本课的教学设想及相关理论依据。

  一、 教材分析

  1、地位与作用

  Project English七年级下册Unit7的教学是围绕有关生日等方面的话题展开

  的。本话题重点以询问What can you do?为中心,展开学习一些相关的生活用语,本节课学生通过学习对话初步接触了情态动词的应用与动词词组的学习。所以本课是本单元的重要组成部分,也是前后知识的载体,在日常生活中占有重要的地位。

  2、重点与难点

  重点:情态动词can与can’t的应用与动词词组的表达。

  难点:选择疑问句的应用。

  重点:主要依据《新课程标准》中七年级英语的要求以及本话题要完成的任务而定的。

  难点:主要依据学生的接受能力与中英文差异。

  3、教学目标

  根据教材的编排和教学要求,结合学生的知识水平和能力,我确立了本节课的教学目标。

  (1) 知识与技能目标

  熟练掌握新词汇与词组,掌握与can有关的重点句型:

  学习语法:选择疑问句的构成。

  (2)过程与方法目标

  小组学习,培养学生的合作意识;通过动作表现能与不能做的事情,从而体会英语学习的快乐。

  让学生从亲身经历的实践中获取关于能与不能,赞扬与批评的表达方法。

  七年级的学生对学习英语的积极性比较高,有较强的表达欲望与浓厚的学习兴趣,并具备了一定的合作探究能力。

  我主要采用直观教学,提问引入等教学法,为学生创造良好的英语学习氛围。
