在新托福考试的6道题目中，只有前两道题目是独立性作业(independent speaking task),而后四道题目则是考察考生听力，阅读与口语的有机结合以及综合运用，相对来说其答案更加的灵活。我们并没有办法得知每一部分要考的大体内容是什么，所以在准备过程当中，会给考生带来一定的困难。
当然，这里并不是去否认这些题目没有规律可循，其实，每道题目当中都有一定的套路和规律可循。但是，对考生来说，即使老师将套路总结出来，也需要一定时间的适应以及大量的运用和练习，才有可能驾驭一套固定的思路，从而运用到各种各样的题目中。而且，新托福口语在第三至第六部分中还有一个对循声极大的挑战，那就是在题目出现的听力和阅读材料。
如果考生因为时间紧迫，或者语速太快，生词太多等原因无法正确理解的话，那对口语部分的答案带来的则是非常重的打击。因此，个人观点是，对于剩下的四道题目，除了应试的技巧，以及套路的分析，考生更重要的则是需要具备良好的英语基础和英语素质，才有可能在这四道题目中折戟。
相比而言，新托福口语的前两道题目则没有给考生较多发挥的空间。一直以来，网上就盛传各种各样的新托福口语考试第一题以及第二题的模板，很多学生纷纷的效仿。总体来说，对于水平比较有限的学生来说，这一招还是比较能够产生实际效果的。但是，在任何考试的模板使用中，都会有同样的两个问题：1. 当太多人都去用同样的模板时，就会产生大家说的都是同样的内容，而使考官失去了新鲜感。2. 很多考生在考前并没有做相对应的准备，所以造成很多时候考生拿着模板生搬硬套到一个题目上，导致了驴唇不对马嘴的情况的发生。所以，针对网络上流行的模板，考生们还需要慎重。
那么，针对新托福第一道题目，是否真的有创制模板的可能性呢?答案当然是肯定的。只不过说，我们很难找到一个适合所有新托福第一道题目的模板。所以这里，建议考生根据不同的题目类型、题目内容来展现具有个性的模板化答案。我们可以看到，新托福第一题基本上与雅思的第二部分内容非常类似，所涉及的题目基本上都是地点，人物，时间或者说物体的描述。那么，首先我们先来看一下对于地点的描述。
托福口语在地点描述的题目里面，我们主要分成两个大的板块。第一，是描述一个建筑物;第二，是对一个城市的描述。两者虽然有很多相似的方面，但是，还是有较多的区别，所以我们可以分开来讲。给考生们创建自己的模板提供足够的方便和可能性，而并不是鼓励各位考生使用同样的一个模板。
首先，我们现在看一下对一个building的描述，在新托福的作答里面有这么几个方面需要讲到。
1. 开头语：因为新托福口语考试的第一部分的作答时间只有短短的45秒，所以千万不要在开头部分过于累赘，尽量的简洁有力，一句话做一个简洁的概括。很多时候，有这样的语句可以来套用，比如说well, off the top of my head, the building I am going to describe to you is …; 或者是，the park that I want to describe, that means a lot to me, is ….这里，考生需要straight to the point, 将自己要描述的内容直接点出...

1. Don't get me started on it
这句话是指“别让我打开话匣子”，意思是你对于某一件事或是一个主题，有很多的意见，要是让你开了话头，可能就要听你连说个七天七夜，没完没了。Don't get me started on it。这句话是用来表达你对一件事情牢骚满腹的心情。
2. When you get down to it
get down to.是指“追究出最根本的原因”，也就是把层层的原因摊开，在抽丝剥茧之后所得到最精确最原本的那个答案。
3. I've gotten carried away. 我扯太远了。
get carried away字面上的意思是“被带走了”，那么被带走的是什么呢-就是心思。当你或是他人说话的时候离了题，偏离主旨扯远了。你就可以用上这个表达法I've /You've gotten carried away。
4. Good thing... 还好，幸好…
在美语当中若要表达中文里“还好，幸好…”的语气，你就可以用Good thing.。。做开头。这个句型非常简单又好用，你只要在Good thing后面加上完整的句子就可以。
5. I don't believe you'rebringing this up. 你现在提这件事真是岂有此理
你现在提这件事真是岂有此理bringsomething up是指“提到(某件事)”。当然情况会有正反两面。你若没想到对方会提起这件事讨骂，你可以说I don't believe you're bringing this up.。而反过来说，若你很高兴对方主动提起了一件事，你也可以用这个片语，自然说出I am glad you are bringing this up。
6. spy on... 跟监(某人)
spy这个字就是“间谍”。当动词用的意思自然就是“做间谍做的事”，也就是“监视，跟踪”之意。当你要去监视跟踪某人，美语中就说成spy on someone。
7. There's no other way ofsaying it。没有别种说法
有时候不管你再怎么转、再怎么拗，也没有办法更婉转或是避开一些绝对会出现的字，这时候你就可以用上There's no other way of saying it。这句话，来表达自己避无可避的为难，因为“没有别种说法。”
8. That will not always be thecase. 情况不会永远是这样
case这个字有“情况”的意思，That will be the case。就是指“情况就会是这样了。”但是你若觉得现在的情况只会是暂时，不会长久，你就可以反过来说That will not always be the case。“情况不会永远是这样。”
9. She is coming on to you. 她对你有意思
She is coming on to you。这句话是用在两性的关系上，意思是“她对你投怀送抱。”也就是形容某人对某人有...
