剑桥大学和UCL的TSA考试只有一个section，90分钟内完成50道题目（50 multiple- choice questions ）五选一。其中25道题考察（Problem-solving skills）解决问题的能力，其余25道题则考察（Critical thinking skills）批判式思维能力。
牛津大学的TSA考试则有两个部分。除了50道五选一的选择题部分外之外，还有一个Writing Task，考试时间为30分钟。Writing的部分一般会给出四个题目，学生只需要选择其中一个题目进行作答就可以了，字数不可超过1200 。
