自尊是一种你在的骄傲，他看不见摸不着，然而，我们又可以随时岁的的去感受到它的存在，每个生命却应该拥有自己的自尊。可以说：“没有自尊的人是不完整的。我们知道只有真正具有强烈自尊心的人才能真正做到不管自已从事什么职业，都能坦然与人平交往。才会赢得被人的尊重。正如丁远志在《方与圆》中所说的：“我们可以寄人篱下，可以求卜，也可以迎合人，甚至聪明人有时还会想办法让人觉得他比自己聪明。”但在作这一切时。必须注意不能让人因此而瞧不起我们。我们应该让他人感觉我们心中拥有尊严。让他人觉得我们有分量。这样他才会尊重我们。
自尊是我们活着的精神支柱，唯有自尊才能自豪，自信自强。因而，维护我们的自尊。实际上就是维护我们的做人的价值。居格涅夫说过：“人家是没有自尊，那就会一无价值。”而通常我们也会说：“人不能有傲气，但不可以无傲骨，所谓傲骨，我认为其实也是自尊的意思。”
可悲的是，我们当中相信有一部分人的脊椎似乎天生不知老挺不直腰板。她们有的在权贵面前卑躬屈膝曲意奉承。有的在外国人面前低三下四。有的甚至因为出身乡下而感到在城里人面前低人一等。诸如此类的人，其实是没有自尊的，因而也是为人所恨得!
所以我们应该学会自尊，不要做一个人类所恨的人!
